Jet prices are from jetinteractive.com.au/pricing, the hardware page and the Business Phone Pricing and Critical Information Summary (PDF), version October 2026. Included calls and texts are for normal business use and subject to Jet's Fair Use Policy. Charged calls are billed in one-minute increments with a two-minute minimum. 13/1300, international and diverted calls are not included. Competitor ranges span each provider's published Australian plans; the per-provider pages break them out plan by plan with the fine print.
The row no competitor has: staff on their own phones. Every system here has a mobile app for a desk extension. Jet also sells Cloud Mobile, a real Australian mobile number that lives in an app on the staff member's own phone at $35 per user per month, on the same account and bill as Business Phone users. Sales reps, tradespeople and part-time staff get a business mobile number callers can text, without a company handset or a second SIM, and the number stays with the business when they leave. Mix Business Phone and Cloud Mobile users freely; see how a business number on a personal mobile works.
What a 5-user and a 10-user office pays a month
Entry plans with calls as the plan includes them, billed monthly where offered. Add-ons, desk phones and setup excluded. Where a provider does not include numbers or calls, the line says what is still to add.
| Plan | 5 users a month | 10 users a month | How it is calculated |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jet Business Phone, Calls Included Plan | $125.00 | $250.00 | $25 × users; Australian calls and SMS included |
| RingCentral RingEX Essentials, monthly billing | $129.95 | $259.90 | $25.99 × users; 250 outbound minutes each, then overage |
| 3CX Pro, 8 simultaneous calls, hosted by 3CX | $92.50 + trunk and calls | $92.50 + trunk and calls | ($635 + $475) ÷ 12; one licence covers up to 40 users; SIP trunk, numbers and call charges extra |
| Teams Phone with domestic calling + Microsoft 365 Business Basic | $217.00 | $434.00 | (AU$32.90 + AU$10.50) × users; 1,200 outbound minutes each |

Read the comparison →How we compare
Every comparison uses the same fifteen criteria: per-user price, how it is sold, calls included, minimum users, contract or lock-in, setup fee, Australian number, softphone apps, desk phone requirement, call recording, IVR, call queues, CRM integration, Australian support and hosting. Jet's side of every table comes from the same published price list, so it reads identically on every page. Competitor figures are only ever the ones the provider publishes on its own Australian page, cited with the page and the date we read it. Where a provider does not publish something, we say so rather than guess.
Frequently asked questions
Which business phone system is cheapest for a small business in Australia?
For an office of 5 that needs to ring Australian numbers, on published entry pricing: Jet $125 a month with calls included; RingCentral Essentials $129.95 on monthly billing with 250 outbound minutes per user; Microsoft Teams Phone with domestic calling plus a Microsoft 365 Business Basic licence about $217; 3CX about $92.50 a month for a hosted Pro licence that covers up to 40 users, before the SIP trunk, numbers and calls you buy elsewhere. Add recording, IVR and queues and the gaps change, so compare the full table for the features you need.
What should I compare when choosing a business phone provider?
Fifteen things: the per-user price and how it is sold (per user, per system or as a Microsoft 365 add-on), what calls are included, minimum users, contract or lock-in, setup fee, whether an Australian number is included, softphone apps, whether a desk phone is required, and whether call recording, IVR, call queues, CRM integration, Australian support and local hosting are included, add-ons or not offered. The calls and the add-ons usually matter more than the headline per-user price.
Can I move my business numbers between providers?
Yes. Australian local, 1300 and 1800 numbers are portable between carriers. The new provider arranges the port, which usually takes a few business days with no downtime. Jet ports numbers in free and charges $50 to port out; check your current provider's term before you cancel.
Are these comparisons up to date?
