- You want to activate online in minutes and manage routing yourself in a portal.
Pick Telstra if
- Your callers are mostly local landlines and you answer on a landline, where Telstra's first 15 minutes are free.
- You want 1300 numbers on the same Telstra enterprise account and bill as the rest of your telephony.
- You need Telstra-specific inbound features such as Silver Service or CCD Manager.
Frequently asked questions
How much cheaper is Jet than Telstra for a 1300 number?
On access fees alone Jet is $3 to $20 a month against Telstra's $27.50, with no connection fee against $99 and no 12-month term. On calls, Telstra is free for the first 15 minutes of a local landline call but 45c a minute for anything answered on a mobile, where Jet is 3c to 6c to any answer point. At 100 three-minute calls a month answered on a mobile that is about $12 at Jet and about $162 at Telstra, before Telstra's connection fee.
Does Telstra charge a setup fee for a 1300 number?
Yes. The Telstra Freecall and Priority CIS lists a $99 once-off connection fee for a Priority 1300 or Freecall 1800 service, plus connection charges of $100 to $110 for enhanced features such as customised menus, Postcode Manager and Local Area Manager. Jet has no setup fee and prices IVR and routing as monthly add-ons.
Is there a contract with Telstra Priority 1300?

Can I port my 1300 number from Telstra to Jet?
Yes. 1300 numbers are portable between Australian carriers, and Jet ports them in free with routing configured before cutover. If you are inside Telstra's 12-month term, Telstra's early termination charge may apply on its side; check the CIS and your contract.
Does Telstra include call recording or reporting on a 1300 number?
The Telstra Freecall and Priority CIS does not mention call recording or call reporting; those would be separate Telstra products if available. Jet includes reporting on every inbound number and sells recording with AI summaries for $10 a month per number, included on the 5×5 offer.
